Programme Educational Objectives:

  • The program is strategically designed to impart within the students a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical philosophies of law. 
  • As part of the curriculum, this program exposes students to various forms of practical training exercises such as moot court competitions, parliamentary debates, drafting, and legal aid clinics.
  • The curriculum explores subjects such as jurisprudence and legal theory, law of torts, constitutional law, criminal procedure code, civil procedure code amongst others.
  • The program is conducted by highly trained and skilled faculties as well as expert legal resources who train students on the fundamentals of legal education in preparation of their careers as legal practitioners.
  • The Bachelor of Law program produces and develops capable individuals who are nurtured in the art of justice delivery and who apply the principles of law for the welfare of the society. 
  • To provide the fundamental understanding of legal education by equipping students with the relevant skill sets and abilities which are vital for ensuring the prevalence of law and order within the Nation.

  • Legal education maintains a position and a place of great social significance in our lives today as an instrument of enforcing and delivering justice. 
  • The field of law has a great demand for individuals who are experts in the understanding of the fundamentals of law and legal education. 
  • The program goes on to develop within the students vital leadership skills which allows the students to effectively navigate the various streams of the private or public service sectors. 
  • Upon the completion of the program, students can pursue their careers in the various roles such as: Magistrate, Arbitrator, Company Secretary, Attorney General, Public Prosecutor, Lawyer etc.

LL.B is a Graduate course of three years duration. This is a professional course of Law. The course is not only restricted to the class rooms studies, but it also includes the mock court trainings, case studies, etc. This course offers bright career opportunities for the aspirants nowadays. They have opportunities with various courts of law both in Central and State government. Graduates who have completed this course can also opt for the higher studies.

There are lots of career options for a law graduate in India, namely:

  • Civil Judge (Junior Division) exams organised by State PSCs for appointment of judges in the subordinate courts within the state.
  • Law officer exams of PSUs/PSBs offering the post of officer or assistant manager in executive grade.
  • Short service commission in the Indian Army in the Judge Advocate General Branch/Law Cadre in the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
  • Higher studies in law field include LLM degree and thereafter a doctorate. After getting LLM degree, one may appear for UGC NET/ JRF-Junior Research Fellowship exam conducted by NTA and after qualifying NET/JRF-Junior Research Fellowship may apply for Assistant Professor Jobs in universities and colleges.
  • As an employee in private companies or as a partner/employee in a legal consulting firm.
  • As a graduate, one can compete for all jobs requiring graduate qualification say UPSC, SSC, State PSCs, State Subordinate SSCs.
  • At last, but not the least, one may start his/her own practice which may seem somewhat tough in initial years for those who are not well connected or are not successors/relative of legal practitioners but may outperform all of the above in terms of earnings, name and fame in later years on the basis of hard work and dedication in the field.
