Program Overview:

B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is a 4 years full time graduate course which is divided into 8 semesters. This course is designed and taught primarily to impart hands-on experience to the students in the field of Mechanical engineering.

Programme Educational Objectives:

The Programme Educational objectives of UG Programme of Mechanical Engineering are as follows:

PEO 1: To warrant students to acquire critical technical and analytical skills and familiarize them with design aspects of Mechanical system & its components.

PEO2: To furnish students with the knowledge and skills that will help them to identify, analyze and solve Interdisciplinary and Industrial Problems.

PEO 3: To train students in such a way that will foster them to work as a team, develop excellent communication skills, and work in a professional manner and responsible human being to provide sustainable solutions to societal needs.

PEO 4: To encourage students to  pursue higher education, take part in R & D works, to be innovative and take part in interdisciplinary fields of work.

PEO 5: To encourage students to participate in workshops, conferences and technical fest that will help them to grow socially and also will help them to grow their professional network. 

Program Outcomes:

  1. Capable of solving complex engineering problems by applying basic science concepts and mathematical and mechanical engineering aptitude.
  2. Use the methods, abilities, and modern mechanical engineering tools like computer-aided design and finite element techniques for problem-solving by modeling and prediction while being aware of their limitations.
  3. Ability to apply mechanical engineering concepts in the research project planning using appropriate skills, tools, and techniques for further improvement.
  4. After completing the program, students can qualify for the national and international levels of exams to pursue higher education.
  5. After completing the program, students can recognize ethical and professional responsibilities and share their global, economic, environmental, and social development expertise.
  6. After completing the program, students can become entrepreneurs in advanced technology.
  7. The ability to develop essential qualities for a successful engineer, like strong communication and professional skills and leadership qualities to compete in the national and international industrial sector.

Career

Mechanical Engineering is one of the broadest and evergreen branches of engineering. Mechanical engineers are involved with various sub sectors of industries like thermal power generation, manufacturing technology, Industrial Engineering, Automobile systems, refrigeration and air conditioning systems design etc. It also provides the comprehensive knowledge of conventional and advance topics like 3-D printing, Robotics and automation, Rapid Prototype etc. Mechanical engineers are involved with the design, analysis, testing, control, operation and implementation with the recent software tools and technology. The physical system that the world uses is designed and developed by the concepts of Mechanical Engineering.
