Program Overview

The department offers M.Sc. Chemistry, two years post graduate programs. The master program has been designed with the aim of fulfilling the demands for trained human resource to give thrust areas to ever increasing chemical industry and related fields. Successful students become professionally skilled and capable of being absorbed in academics, chemical industry and research institutions. A postgraduate degree in M.Sc. in Chemistry opens avenues of jobs both in public & private sectors.

Designed with the aim of fulfilling the demands for trained human resources to give thrust to ever increasing chemical industry and related fields. 

Enhanced laboratory skills, develop the capability of being absorbed in, chemical industries and research institutions. 

Enhanced employability to work as analytical chemist, production chemist, Research& Development Manager, Biomedical Chemist and Pharmaceutical Companies. 

Lifelong learning leads to opportunities related to pursue higher studies and become eligible for various competitive examinations like, UPSE, NET, GATE etc. 

Provide value-based learning with concern for nature and society.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Demonstrate basic and advanced knowledge in the field of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. 

Inculcate scientific knowledge about advanced writing, documentational, designing and computational, mathematical skills along with enhanced communication skills. 

Analyze and apply specialized knowledge of Chemistry in problems related to industry and society. 

Develop presentation skills and confidence required to work individually and in a team. 

Explain the principle and working of various instruments like Spectrophotometers (UV-Visible/IR), HPLC, TLC, Polarimeter, Refractometer for analysis and characterization of synthesized materials. 

Develop ethical values by way of dissertation, presentation, industrial visits and training programmes with lifelong learning.
