Glocal University Pharmacy College Celebrates National Pharmacy Education Day on the theme “Leveraging Synergism- Academia Partnership for Implementation of NEP”
The “National Pharmacy Education Day” was organized by Glocal University Pharmacy College and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences on March 6th at Glocal University, Saharanpur, under the visionary guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Bharti. The programme commenced with lamp lighting ceremony by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Bharti, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Mishra, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Pandey, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar, Director Admin Mr. Guru Dayal Singh Katiyar, Dean Pharmacy Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Kumar and Prof. (Dr.) Varsha Deva and chief guest for the event was Dr. Lokesh Dhameja.
The program focused on the theme, “leveraging Synergism- Academia Partnership for Implementation of NEP”. During the event, Honourable Vice Chancellor emphasized the significant correlation between pharmacy and health, highlighting the potential for innovative practices to contribute to the well-being of society and the nation. He lauded the university’s efforts, noting that over 15 pharmaceutical companies will be visiting the campus, providing significant opportunities for aspiring pharmacists. In the inaugural session, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Mishra delivered an enlightening speech, emphasizing the role of pharmacy in healthcare development and advocating for new research initiatives.
As part of the program, students presented models created in the laboratory, showcasing practical demonstrations in areas such as pre-formulation, formulation ,evaluation, and packaging of various dosage forms, including tablets, syrups, suspensions, emulsions, creams, , transdermal patches, and capsules, adhering to Indian Pharmacopoeia standards. Additionally, a quiz competition and rangoli competition were also organized.
The event was led by distinguished educators, including the Dean of Pharmacy, Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Varsha Deva, Prof. (Dr.) Abdul Hafiz, Dr. Yash Pratap Singh, Dr. Siraj Anwar, Dr. Shamoon Ahmad, Mr. Syed Basharat, Mr. Zaid Chaudhary, Mr. Monish Khan, Mr. Muhammad Murtaza, Mr. Muhammad Asif, Mr. Johnny Kumar, Mr. Prabhat, Mr. Firoz Alam, and Ms. Shaili Raghav. Deans, principals, and faculty members from other schools also actively participated in the program, fostering inter-departmental relationships. Moreover, students from nursing and paramedical departments were given the opportunity to participate, promoting collaboration across different disciplines. In conclusion, Mr. Muhammad Murtaza expressed gratitude to all participants.
