The mission of the School of Agricultural Sciences is to improve the quality of life of people, especially the rural masses dependent upon agriculture, through quality human resource development for efficient, effective and gainful utilization of productive resources, leading to knowledge led agrarian transformation and sustainable development of agriculture, horticulture and forestry for addressing food security, nutritional adequacy, employment opportunity and eco-environment concerns.
Our aim in educating students in university is to provide them with a strong foundation in the science, technology, and business of agriculture. Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a different field of industry, whether as farmers, agribusiness professionals, researchers, or policymakers.
Through our courses, students will gain a deep understanding of the latest advances in crop science, animal production, and food safety, as well as the economic, social, and environmental factors that impact agriculture. They can also develop practical skills through hands-on experiences such as field trips, laboratory work, and internships with industry partners.
