Glocal University Ignites Entrepreneurial Spirit with IGNITE 2025 on World Entrepreneurship Day
The Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) of Glocal University, Saharanpur, in collaboration with IQAC, celebrated World Entrepreneurship Day with a two-day mega event, IGNITE 2025: Entrepreneurial Innovations and Startup Challenges, held on 21st–22nd August 2025 at the University Auditorium.
The event opened on 21st August with a thought-provoking seminar on “Trends in Entrepreneurial Innovations”, setting the stage for a vibrant celebration of startups and creativity. The excitement continued on 22nd August with the Startup Idea Pitch Competition, Business Quiz, Technical Sessions, and Cultural Performances, creating a dynamic environment of learning, innovation, and competition.
Dignitaries Present:
The inauguration was graced by eminent dignitaries including Prof. (Dr.) H.S. Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) John Finbe, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Syed Nizamuddin, Additional Pro Chancellor, Dr. Shivani Tiwari, Registrar, and Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, Director IQAC, who motivated the students with powerful words on innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial growth.
Competitions & Judges:
This year’s IGNITE witnessed overwhelming student participation, with 25 entries in the Startup Idea Pitch Competition and 23 entries in the Business Quiz. The Startup Pitch Competition was judged by Prof. Mohd Mazhar Afzal, Dr. Mohd Yusuf, and Dr. Sandeep Gupta, while the Business Quiz was evaluated by Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Mr. Dhanjay Singh Shyamal, and Mr. Gaurav Kumar.

The winners were felicitated with cash prizes and appreciation for their innovative spirit.

IGNITE 2025 not only celebrated the spirit of startups but also echoed the call of the nation to innovate and build. With the campaign slogan “Let us Innovate, Startup”.
