GLOCAL UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY ON 12th MAY 2023

On 12th May 2023, Glocal College of Nursing and Research Centre celebrated International Nurses Day and Oath Taking ceremony under the guidance of Vice Chancellor of the Glocal University Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti.

Dr. Asit Sen- Managing Director- V Bros Hospital, Saharanpur, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dr. Paresh Shah, Dr. Shobhit Shrivastav, Dr. Fardeen and Dr. Laila Wilson were the guests of honour.

The celebration was made even more special with the gracious presence of Vice Chancellor- Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, Pro Vice Chancellor-Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Mishra, Registrar- Prof. (Dr.) R.D. Dwiwedi, Dean Academics- Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar, Campus Director – Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Pandey, Principal – Prof. (Dr.) Roshan Lal Kahar, Heads & Deans from various departments of the university and faculties from nursing college.

The event was attended by students of nursing college. The function began with welcome note and the felicitation of chief guest and followed by lamp lighting and prayer to MAA SARASWATI. Principal Prof. (Dr.)  Roshan Lal Kahar gave an opening remark and during the event various speakers including chief guest and other guests discussed the significance and contribution of nurses to the healthcare system and investing in nursing profession. WHO theme for International Nurses Day 2023 was “OUR NURSES OUR FUTURE” which highlighted the vital role of nurses to the present as well as future of healthcare. Oath taking and lamp lighting ceremony for nursing students of first year marked the beginning of a new journey as they embarked on their career in nursing.

Principal and senior teachers of the nursing college passed the auspicious light to the students followed by oath and prayer. The celebration featured cultural events such as dance performance by senior students of the college and certificate distribution to the winners of various events organised during nurses week.

Summaiya, Aafreen and Sana got first, second and third position respectively in mehandi competition. In Rangoli competition, Summaiya and Aafreen were winners while Sana, Shalu, Arshi and Shikha were runner up. Shikha got certifictate for her first position in craft competition and Manisha, Priya and Soniya were on second and third positions. Students who participated in World TB Day also got their certificate of appreciation. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Himanshu Massey and National Anthem.

Whole program was organised by the faculties and students of Glocal College of Nursing and Research Centre under the guidance of their principal. The event served as a reminder of the significance of the nursing profession and the responsibility that comes with it.
