July 4, 2024 – In a significant move towards community development and education, Glocal University organized the Gram Pradhan Samman Samaroh, marking a memorable day of local empowerment and celebration.
Glocal University hosted this prestigious event under the theme “Gaon ko Shikshit Kare Pradhan, Glocal ka Hai Yeh Abhiyaan (गांव को शिक्षित करे प्रधान। ग्लोकल का है, यही अभियान।।)” reflecting its mission to educate local communities and provide a global platform for their advancement. Since its inception, the University has been dedicated to offering global education programs to local populations, embodying the essence of its name.
The event saw the presence of village heads from various nearby villages, personally invited by Glocal University representatives. Under the guidance of Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Bharti and Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Pandey, Pradhan Smamman Smaraoh 2024 was organized by Director IQAC Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, the ceremony welcomed a remarkable turnout of 200 Pradhans and their representatives, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to a brighter future.
The day’s proceedings began with high tea, followed by a gathering in the auditorium. The inauguration ceremony featured a traditional lamp lighting for the goddess Saraswati by esteemed dignitaries, including Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P K Bharti, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Mishra, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar Sharma, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S P Pandey, Pro Vice-Chancellor Ayush Dr. John Finbe, Director IQAC Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar and Guests.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kumar Mishra delivered the welcome address, while Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar Sharma provided an insightful introduction to the University, highlighting its vision and mission through a pictorial representation. Students of Glocal University showcased the vibrant art and cultural heritage, reflecting the rich traditions of the region.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) P K Bharti, delivered a powerful presidential address, reaffirming Glocal University’s dedication to empowering marginalized and economically weaker sections of society through education. He highlighted the University’s transformative initiatives, including the impactful Sukanya program of 2023, which offered invaluable educational opportunities to numerous young girls at no cost. Prof. Bharti emphasized the University’s commitment to fostering positive societal change and ensuring the enduring impact of its mission. Prof. Dr. P.K. Bharti also said that the purpose of this felicitation ceremony was to honor the Gram Pradhans of various villages of Saharanpur district for educating, making their Gram Panchayat clean and beautiful and for their excellent work.
Dignitaries and deans honored the Pradhans with mementos and shawls, recognizing their valuable contributions to community development.
On this occasion, several Pradhans voluntarily spoke about the University’s role in their villages, praising its efforts in empowering village children through knowledge, overall well-being, and extracurricular activities including Abdul Rehman alias Shalu Chairman Behat, Chaudhary Ayub Hasan Bijopura, Rakesh Kumar Sadauli Block President, Mohammad Israr District Panchayat Member, Jameel Councilor Behat, Shyamlal Rampur Kala, Subhavari Chauhan, Kothari Bahlolpur. They highlighted Glocal University as the sole institution offering such diverse programs and courses in their area.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, the organizer of the event. The national anthem was sung, followed by a communal lunch, bringing the memorable day to a close. The whole event was hosted by Dr. Shobha Tripathi.

ग्लोकल विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर डॉ. पी. के. भारती के दिशानिर्देशन में ग्लोकल विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा ग्राम प्रधान सम्मान समारोह – 2024 का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें सहारनपुर जिले के प्रधानों को सम्मानित किया गया। इस सम्मान समारोह का आयोजन ग्लोकल यूनिवर्सिटी, सहारनपुर के ऑडिटोरियम में किया गया।
इस कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ ग्लोकल विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर डॉ. पी. के. भारती, प्रतिकुलपति प्रोफेसर डॉ. पी. के. मिश्रा, प्रतिकुलपति प्रोफेसर डॉ. एस. के. शर्मा, कुलसचिव प्रोफेसर डॉ. एस.पी. पाण्डे एवं प्रतिकुलपति प्रोफेसर डॉ. जॉन फिनबे द्वारा दीप प्रज्जवलित करके किया गया। कार्यक्रम के उद्घाटन के बाद प्रधानों को अंगवस्त्र और मोमेंटो देकर सम्मानित किया गया।
इस अवसर पर ग्लोकल विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर डॉ. पी. के. भारती ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि इस सम्मान समारोह का उद्देश्य सहारनपुर जिले के विभिन्न गांवों के ग्राम प्रधानों को उनकी ग्राम पंचायत को शिक्षित करने, स्वच्छ और सुंदर बनाने एवं उनके उत्कृष्ट कार्यों के लिए सम्मानित हुआ।
इस कार्यक्रम में सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी आयोजित किए गए, जिसमें छात्रों ने अपने प्रदर्शन से सभा को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। इस कार्यक्रम का संयोजन आई.क्यू.ए.सी के निदेशक प्रोफेसर संजय कुमार द्वारा किया गया और इस कार्यक्रम का संचालन डॉ शोभा त्रिपाठी द्वारा किया गया।
इस अवसर पर अब्दुल रहमान उर्फ शालू चेयरमैन बेहट, चौधरी अय्यूब हसन बीजोपुरा, राकेश कुमार सडौली ब्लॉक अध्यक्ष, मोहम्मद् इशरार जिला पंचायत सदस्य, जमील सभासद बेहट, श्यामलाल रामपुर कला, सुभावरी चौहान, कोठरी बहलोलपुर आदि नें भी अपने अपने विचार व्यक्त किये l
कार्यक्रम का समापन राष्ट्रगान गाकर किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में उपरोक्त गणमान्यों के अलावा विश्वविद्यालय के शीर्ष अधिकारियों, समस्त विभागाध्यक्षों, शिक्षण एवं गैर-शिक्षण कर्मचारियों, छात्र-छात्राओं सहित सहारनपुर जिले के विभिन्न ग्राम पंचायतों से लगभग 200 ग्राम प्रधान एवं गणमान्य लोग उपस्थित रहे।
