On 08th September 2022 a book reading competition was organised for all the students of Glocal University by the Department of Students Welfare. This event was organised to create awareness on importance of book reading among students. Books play a very important role in everyone’s life, especially in a students’ life. They are our best friends because they inspire us to do great things in life and overcome our failures. Books are the best companions as they provide knowledge unconditionally without asking anything in return. A large number of students from different departments of the university participated in this competition.
Five topics were given to students to write short story in their books. Students participated as a team of five members. They wrote their book in given time and one member from each team narrated their story. Judges marked them on the basis of content, confidence and public speaking and declared names of three best teams in the end. The event was hosted by Mr. Waseem, faculty member of English department and member of DSW team. Certificates were distributed to all winning participants.
