Glocal University celebrated National Education Day under the visionary leadership of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) P.K. Bharti to honor the legacy and contributions of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, an eminent freedom fighter and the first Minister of Education in independent India. This occasion also provided an opportunity to emphasize the transformative power of education in building a progressive and sustainable society.
The highlight of the event was a special expert session led by the esteemed Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar Sharma, who delivered an insightful talk on “Skill-Based Education for Sustainable Development.” Prof. Sharma emphasized the importance of skill-based education in today’s rapidly changing world and highlighted how it can serve as a catalyst for sustainable development. His presentation provided valuable insights into the evolving educational landscape, focusing on the need for practical skills that align with global sustainability goals. The session was both informative and inspiring, underscoring the role of educators, institutions, and students in shaping a future that values sustainable growth. The session was graced by Pro Vice Chancellor (Ayush) Prof (Dr.) John Finbe, Registrar Ms. Shivani Tiwari, Chief Proctor Md. Jamirulislam, Dr. Wassem, Dr. Mohd Yusuf and was well-attended by students from the second year and above, along with faculty members and other academic staff. First-year students continued with their classes and practical as scheduled to ensure continuity in their academic programs.
The celebration served as a reflective moment for all attendees, reminding everyone of the critical role of education in society and encouraging students to aspire toward a more sustainable future through skill-oriented learning.
