The festival of Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Glocal University. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor John Finbe as the Chief Guest, under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Shobha Tripathi and Dr. Zameerul Islam.
The celebration commenced with Krishna Poojan, where students performed traditional rituals and offered prayers, creating a divine and spiritual ambiance. Following this, the highlight of the event, the Dahi Handi Utsav, was organized. Students enthusiastically formed human pyramids to break the earthen pot (Handi), symbolizing the playful and inspiring deeds of Lord Krishna.
The program also included devotional songs, bhajans, and cultural performances that filled the atmosphere with festivity and devotion. The Chief Guest, Professor Johnson, praised the students for their active participation and emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions alongside academic excellence.
The event concluded with blessings and sweets distribution among students and faculty members. The celebration not only revived the cultural heritage but also strengthened the spirit of unity, devotion, and joy among the participants.
