A seminar on “Sensitization and Orientation on SWAYAM MOOCs” was successfully conducted at Glocal University on January 29, 2025, at 11:30 AM. The session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Mr. Dhananjay Singh Shyamal, SWAYAM Nodal Officer. More than 30 faculty members, including Deans, Principals, School/College Coordinators, and Mentors, participated in the seminar.
The session emphasized the importance of SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), an initiative by the Government of India aimed at providing equitable access to quality education through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

✅ Vision of SWAYAM: Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma underscored the need for experiential, holistic, and multidisciplinary education, aligned with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He emphasized the role of SWAYAM in bridging the digital divide and enabling learners from all backgrounds to access high-quality educational resources.
✅ Enrollment and Course Access: Mr. Dhananjay Singh Shyamal provided a live demonstration on the SWAYAM course enrollment process, accessing content, submission of assignments, and monitoring student progress.
✅ Assessment and Certification: The session detailed the criteria for passing a SWAYAM course, which includes 40% minimum marks in both internal assessments and end-term exams. Students must also submit at least 75% of assignments to be eligible for certification.
✅ University Integration & Credit Transfer: The speakers discussed how universities can integrate SWAYAM courses into their academic structure, allowing students to take SWAYAM exams at their own university and earn credits towards their degree programs.
✅ Current Enrollment Status: The seminar highlighted the active participation of students in various SWAYAM courses, reflecting a growing interest in online learning.
✅ Mentoring & Support System: Faculty members were encouraged to take an active role in mentoring students, with weekly two-hour mentoring sessions allocated in the academic timetable.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where faculty members discussed strategies for enhancing student participation in SWAYAM courses. The event was well-received, marking a significant step toward online learning adoption and skill-based education at Glocal University.
