10th International Yoga Day at Glocal University

Glocal University celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day with the theme “Yoga for Self and Society.” The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. P.K. Bharti, who also honored the distinguished guests. In his inaugural address, Dr. Bharti highlighted the significance of this year’s theme, emphasizing that yoga fosters not only individual well-being but also enhances the connection between the inner and outer worlds.

In the second phase of the program, yoga expert and wellness coach Dr. Naeem Ahmed Shah, along with his team members Muskan, Shivani, Simran, and Nadeem Ahmed, guided the participants through various yoga asanas and practices. The event was organized by D.S.W. Ms. Swarnima Singh at the university’s medical library open area premises. Following the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. P.K. Bharti, Pro-Vice-Chancellors Professor Dr. Satish Kumar Sharma, Professor Dr. P.K. Mishra, and Dr. John Finbe, Registrar Professor Dr. S.P. Pandey, CFO A.P. Singh, along with a large number of university staff and students, participated in the yoga session.

In conjunction with the International Yoga Day, Glocal University also organized a “Yoga Week,” which included yoga sessions, talks, and other activities across various faculties and departments. As part of these events, a workshop titled “Role of Yoga in Stress Management” was held on June 20, led by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Satish Kumar Sharma, aiming to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga in managing stress.
