Program Overview:
The Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) course is a 2-year diploma program (including internship) aimed at preparing female health workers who are trained in providing basic nursing care and maternal-child health services at the community level.
ANMs are an integral part of India’s public health system and are frontline workers responsible for delivering preventive, promotive, and basic curative health services, especially in rural and underserved areas.
Key Objectives:
Upon completion of the ANM course, the graduate will be able to:
- Provide safe and effective primary healthcare, maternal and child health services.
- Assist in conducting deliveries and provide postnatal and neonatal care.
- Deliver family planning services, immunization, and community health education.
- Work in collaboration with ASHAs, Anganwadi workers, and PHC/CHC staff.
- Maintain health records, registers, and participate in public health campaigns.
