Experience & Present Engagements

I have worked at IIP Dehradun for over 38 years and have varied experience in doing R & D and its commercialization. I have delt with number of organizations in technology transfer, for solving their technical problems and for conducting training courses for IOC, BPCL, HPCL, Reliance etc. I have been a faculty member and course director for these courses. I had great interaction with these organizations.

Currently I am member in many National level committees ( Environment Appraisal Committee etc ) of MoEF & CC in field of Coal Mining, Thermal Power generation and Hazardous waste management in the country. I have interactions with power generators, Industries handling hazardous waste.

I am currently Chairman of National Task force of CPCB, New Delhi on Petrochemicals and I interact with petroleum refining and petrochemical plants in the country about technologies and plant emissions.

At Uttarakhand I am currently acting chairman of SEAC ( State Level Environment Appraisal Committee) for the last two and half years. All new project in manufacturing and other industries, construction projects >20,000m2 , mineral mining etc. are discussed in committee to recommend Environment Clearance , a first but essential step to put up the project or its expansion.

I have contacts with state / local pollution control board and I keep doing some short technical projects for them.

In addition I work as visiting faculty for number of universities like UPES, DIT etc for teaching Petroleum Refining & Petrochemicals, Green fuels, Gasification and other oil & Gas related subjects. I also regularly go for invited lectures at IIP when they conduct training course for refinery engineers.
